A love letter to the vibrancy of the street. Indeed, it’s meeting the street and the inner imperfection of existence that fashion comes to life. It’s when it melts with the identity of who is wearing it that it expresses itself to the fullest. Pierpaolo Piccioli looks for real life and truth while persisting on that process that sees Valentino’s codes re-signified. The Spring / Summer Collection 22 is characterized by movement and masterful rework of brand’s archive material: the animal spotted coat, Marisa Berenson’s white mini-dress, those long floral dresses portrayed by Chris von Wangenheim. Each single piece is an ode to tailoring which is re-interpreted through volumes, material treatments — taffeta is deprived of its draining value —and a vivid almost acrylic color palette. All about personal signifiers and meanings: Piccioli tells us about the urgency of going to the street and live the present expressing our personality to the most.
