CELINE LEGENDS

PORTRAIT OF A MUSICIAN

With Bob Dylan, the Portrait Of project continues: rock music legends are portrayed through the lens of Creative Director Hedi Slimane.

Portrait Of is a Celine project aimed at celebrating, through some black-and-white shots, the musicians, songwriters and producers who have marked the history of rock music. Julian Casablancas, frontman of the group The Strokes, Paul Banks, well-known guitarist of Interpol, Kevin Parker, known for his psychedelic rhythm, and Jack White, singer-songwriter and musician, participate in the series of portraits that Hedi Slimane shots with guitars, leather vests, and sunglasses, elements that lend the real rock and roll attitude. The Creative Director’s devotion to music can be seen in each of his collections: songs that have become legends, such as Hello Operator by The White Stripes, play in the background of the runway shows, while the details of the garments are directly inspired by the most famous rockstars, mixing glittering elements with skinny pants and bold boots.

To continue the Portrait of a Musician series, the new portraits of Mr. Bob Dylan, photographed by Hedi Slimane in Los Angeles in December 2022 wearing Celine Homme.

Bob Dylan is the latest among the artists to take part in Portrait of a Musician: Slimane portrays him seated while playing his inseparable guitar, with a pair of dark lenses and wearing the iconic black leather jacket, Celine’s signature. The rock icon is remembered by all as a symbol of his musical genre and as one of the most influential figures in music history. That snare drum hit, which everyone has loved since the 1960s, has marked history, accompanied by his look and his style, evocative and fascinating: the role as spokesperson for a new generation can also be found nowadays in the same Celine proposes, who through iconic garments captures the zeitgeist of a recognizable and clearly identifiable aesthetic. The rock legend puts the word at the center of her songs, demonstrating how a rebellious and roaring genre can invite audiences to listen, reflect and become aware of what is happening around the world. Slimane through the shots conveys to the viewer the character and innate flair for rock and roll, evoking the full dimension of Bob Dylan through the world of Celine.
