Starting from existence in order to research newness. Miuccia Prada’s Miu Miu Spring-Summer Collection 2022 is a subtle references exercise and a research for reality. The ultimate archetypes of everyday dressing get new freshness: trousers, jumpers, shirts, blazers, suits and mini dresses are re-worked, proportions are transformed and their relationship to body is changed, now exposed and revealed. Hems get sort of intentional unfinished touch in order to enhance the creation process and the spontaneity of these transformative actions. Day and night. The aesthetic languages of dressing blend as precious embroideries shine on dresses and suits. Fusion and contamination, are crucial concepts at the core of today’s fashion, here materialised into the collaboration between Miu Miu and New Balance as the 574 sneaker becomes denim and is presented with new colors such as blu and khaki. The show led us through a process of actuality amplification as well as reality analysis. This process was further highlighted by artist Meriem Bennani’s work who created a space for physical and visual dialogues exploring intimate relationships through the camera lens.
