The White Cube announces a full exhibition by Ibrahim Mahama, at the Bermondsey galleries in London, opened until November 7th 2021. Ibrahim Mahama, considered as one of the highest exponent of contemporary art from Africa, has been noticed thanks to his political and ethical references and transformation of materials used in his large scales installations. Through his works the artist reinvent the usage of waste urban materials, (sacks, wood and others), in order to express his critic to migration, globalisation and economic change.
For his presentation in London, the artist has prepared a series of collages and drawings that he has been creating after a period of researches in his hometown in Northern Ghana, in Nkrumah, where the artist has recently acquired a silo and turned into a cultural hub to celebrate his origins celebrating his art pieces.
