Miu Miu keeps supporting a sustainable ideology, today crucial than ever, now giving new life to pre-loved denim in collaboration with Levi’s®.
Through its maverick and determinedly playful take, the brand interprets a selection of classic denim garments, iconic pieces such as men’s 501® jeans, and the Trucker Jackets. Born out of American gold miners’ workwear, from the mid-1950s onwards, Levi’s® became a symbol of youthful rebellion. If we think about the fact that Marilyn Monroe was one of the first women to wear the 501 jeans in the film River of No Return and that Andy Warhol apparently popularized the jean/blazer style, wearing the 501 for the first time with a suit jacket, it’s interesting to observe how Miu Miu has masterfully weaved its lexicon with that of Levi’s®, respecting its heritage but fully getting the sense of its chameleonic DNA. Today, through this great collaboration these vintage pieces hold all their iconic charm and get hand-embellished with rich embroideries, ivory silk Duchesse turn-ups, oversized white lace collars, and Art Deco-inspired intarsia motifs. Miu Miu personalizes these pieces and portrays them on its muses, actress Emma Corrin and models Lila Moss and Georgia Palmer, all photographed by Johnny Dufort’s unique lens.
