Balenciaga presents its Haute Couture collection for the first time ever out of France. An incredible fashion exhibition exposing 50 Haute Couture pieces by Demna Gvasalia, at the TANK museum of Shangai. A five-day schedule for viewings, fittings, tours, and performances celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Couture first appearance. A great custom alternative way to present the return of the Balenciaga’s Couture to the highly sophisticated audience who has the utmost understanding of luxury and craft.
“As China isn’t able to travel to Europe, either, I felt it was our duty to bring the Balenciaga 50th Couture Collection there. I’m proud to share with China this very important moment celebrating the culture, craftsmanship, and heritage of Balenciaga in an exhibition featuring my first Couture collection.”
The breathless display sees garments worn by invisible mannequins located in a special rounded setting inspired by the recently renovated brand’s atelier in Avenue Montagne George V. Thanks to the use of abundant drapery and carpets, in pale a color-matched monochrome furniture, the location conveys the same ambiance and feeling that were originally presented in Balenciaga’s first couture shows in 1930s Paris. A unique experience worth to be seen.
