“Uncomfortable is the perfect word for me to define this historical moment. We know so little that we cannot predict the future, so in clothing we need clarity, precision. There is a connection to the past that matters to us, even as we seek novelty. It is a sign of respect: moving forward without erasing what came before, preserving an idea of beauty and transforming it into something new.”
