Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons envision a man who does not erase the past, but rather reflects on it in an evolving way. He embraces new aspects that shape a collective, shared, and layered history.

What are we able to create starting from what we already know? This is the question posed by the two creative directors on the occasion of the Prada Men’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection. The walls of a lived-in home make us feel safe, welcomed; wood paneling alternates with wallpaper, and the fireplaces feature marble finishes, just like in a house from another era. Many lives, rich with experiences, emotions, and memories, intertwine in a set designed deliberately to feel lived-in. The spirits of past inhabitants of the same space—so different, yet so close—accompany the various personalities showcased in the collection. It is the story of a modern tailoring, reinterpreted through Northern lines, influenced by Raf Simons’ Belgian background in Antwerp, where he honed his craft. And then there is Miuccia Prada’s conceptually practical ability, which, more than anyone else, can convey the character of a timeless maison through meticulously considered and crafted details.

Before and next, a look at what has been in order to move forward and tell a story rich in detail. The formality is sharp and decisive, with elongated silhouette lines. Every detail is very clear: exaggerated cuffs extend beyond jacket sleeves, coats are long, trousers are slim along the legs but soft in length, and short capes are layered over knee-length trenches, both tone-on-tone and in contrast. Hats evoke the underground, the industrial punk scene, as do the first looks with dark colour-blocking. Starting from deep blue and black, the palette gradually shifts toward color and dynamic shades, quickly introducing white and grey, then moving into yellow, purple, green, red, pink, and brown—like the palette of a painter eager to depict many different visions, many precise details. Life is marked yet seems to rise, accompanying knits, nylon garments, and iconic leather pieces.

Uncomfortable is the perfect word for me to define this historical moment. We know so little that we cannot predict the future, so in clothing we need clarity, precision. There is a connection to the past that matters to us, even as we seek novelty. It is a sign of respect: moving forward without erasing what came before, preserving an idea of beauty and transforming it into something new.”

The collection reconnects with the awareness of human nature through gestures and curiosity—familiar elements reimagined to challenge the conventions of a past that is far from simple. The traces of tradition meet culture, history, meaning, intelligence, care, and curiosity. Everything appears simple and precise, even as the interest and fascination of an essentially pure architecture reveal what lies within. It is an imaginary past that is presented in the Prada Men’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection.

What is usually hidden is revealed, and what is closed opens up. The impression of the Prada man is unexpected—a series of combinations that connect in a unique way. The music is unsettling, like that of an ordinary evening, and perhaps this brings us even closer to reality: no perfection is necessary, no harmony demanded by the system, but a truth made of highs and lows, of knowledge and discovery, of positive and negative, of beauty and difficulty. An imaginary past gathers different paths, rich with stories and characters. Distant thoughts unfold across different eras, yet all tied to the sheer human experience. Fashion becomes an evolution of a past that is always present, a collection of new ideas that merge into the collective. The uncertain and insecure world is thus stirred by a precise clarity—from a memory that teaches respect, from a universality of shared values.

“I have always appreciated that Miuccia’s work, from the very beginning, has been centred on challenge, on overturning paradigms, and on inquiry. This idea—a reference to Prada’s tradition—is a source of inspiration. We asked ourselves what should remain from the past and what we could build based on what we have learned. In this moment of uncertainty, I find it reassuring and comforting when someone is able to express clear and precise concepts.”
