The Way We Were—literally, being, true essence, history, and the values of the Maison. In the Fall/Winter 2025 Women’s collection, equestrianism is the central theme around which research and storytelling unfold. According to Sergio Loro Piana, horseback riding is a school of life, a way of being, feeling, and living; it teaches respect for animals and nature, perseverance, attentiveness, discipline, and the pursuit of perfection. All of these are fundamental values for the Maison. The spirit is not merely nostalgic for a bygone era but also a modern reaffirmation of timeless codes. The harmony that mankind should share with nature is the starting point of everything—those distant, vast, and untouched landscapes where all begins and from which all originates. The journey. The passion. The freedom. The lightness. The intention. Loro Piana’s relationship with materials represents a true way of living, being, and dressing—one that conveys the most authentic expression of the self. The purest and most hidden essence. The Loro Piana style is enveloping, warm, harmonious, and complete.

Shapes, colours, textures, and fabrics best express the fundamental harmony of the Maison. Lines and volumes follow the body’s movements, embodying elegance while remaining dynamic, feminine yet structured, sensual yet assertive. Details are precise and meticulous, designed with functionality for the equestrian world. The ladylike aesthetic is reinterpreted through a modern and sophisticated lens: long skirts are flared, jackets are short—either smooth or quilted—layered in a play of patterns and colours. Soft leather becomes enveloping, alternating with plush knitwear. The iconic Spagna jacket is presented in a mini version as well as a knee-length coat. The culotte skirt introduces a new silhouette, paying homage to Argentine style. The entire collection is wrapped in an earthy and natural color palette that seamlessly blends the spirit of Loro Piana: Dark Brandy, Vintage Brown, Creamy Vanilla, Creamy Cashmere, Dark Maple Leaf, Tundra Soil, Vicuña, Deep Oak, along with Navy Blue and Black. The most refined pieces take on an after-dark interpretation of evening wear—lightweight, semi-transparent knitwear is paired with satin, while embroidered textures bring an elegant, contemporary touch, with black and white as the defining colours.

At the same time, accessories highlight the Maison’s aesthetic: hats come with wide or short brims, footwear is low, simple, and tapered, while riding boots remain the key focus. The rubber version, featuring Loro Piana’s signature lining and details, marks the brand’s collaboration with Le Chameau, a historic manufacturer. Jewelry and eyewear feature bold yet understated shapes, just like the slim belts adorned with refined buckles. In leather goods, a new addition emerges: the Needle bag, inspired by knitting needle cases, paying homage to craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the Extra Bag L23 is reintroduced in a smaller version, and the Loom bag debuts in Nabuk Zibeline, Cash Tweed, and Pecora Nera.
Another key milestone in the brand’s pursuit of research and innovation is the introduction of a new excellence: Royal Lightness. The exploration of the textile world, the relentless drive for innovation, and the dedication to true craftsmanship have led the Maison to achieve an extraordinary breakthrough—the embodiment of absolute lightness and subtle luminosity through the creation of a remarkable new yarn and fabric. The first is born from a blend of silk and Merino wool, while the second combines silk and cashmere. This achievement is the result of two years of intense, meticulous, and deeply focused research. The delicacy of this creation is unparalleled, and its development follows a rigorous, impeccable process, involving multiple stages of craftsmanship executed by highly skilled artisans. For the yarn, the process begins with combing and spinning the raw materials. The two fibers are then intertwined with extreme precision, enhancing the intrinsic qualities of each strand. The result is an ultrafine, ultralight, and ultra-delicate thread. The fabric, on the other hand, brings together the finest Mulberry silk, wrapped around the most exquisite cashmere. In the final stages, a special finishing process gives the material its signature Loro Piana airy softness. The topstitching technique ensures a smooth and flawless finish—this is the most delicate, complex, and intricate phase of production, still performed entirely by hand using an ancient artisanal method.

Loro Piana has always been synonymous with exquisite craftsmanship, unparalleled quality, innovative research, and masterful savoir-faire. Italian excellence is embedded in every project of the Maison, expressed through collections that embody a distinctive style—one of attention to detail, elegance, modernity, and beauty. The brand’s deeply rooted authenticity sets it apart worldwide, allowing it to carry forward timeless codes and narratives with a unique and enduring vision.
